Terms of Use (Preview)
Last updated: 2026-07-09. Yourkive is an early preview offered free of charge. These terms are intentionally lightweight and will evolve before general availability.
What Yourkive is
Yourkive is a local-first journaling app. Your entries are stored on your own device and, if you enable sync, in your own cloud storage. We do not host your journal.
Preview status
The app is under active development and provided “as is,” without warranty. Features may change or break, and hosted helpers (such as the automations that fetch weather or workout data) are rate-limited during the preview and may be unavailable at times. Don’t rely on Yourkive as your only copy of important data — keep your own backups (export is always available, and sync writes plain files to your own cloud).
Your data and backups
You own your content. Because we don’t store it, we can’t recover it for you. You are responsible for keeping backups (e.g. sync to your cloud, or the export feature).
Acceptable use of hosted helpers
The hosted automations service is provided as a convenience. Please don’t abuse it — no automated scraping, no attempts to circumvent rate limits or use it as a general-purpose proxy. We may rate-limit, suspend, or block access that appears abusive.
Unlock keys
Unlock keys lift preview limits for testers and supporters. Keys are non-transferable and may be revoked if abused. They are not a purchase of a guaranteed service level during the preview.
Privacy
See the Privacy Policy. In short: your journal stays yours; only anonymous, opt-in usage data ever reaches us.
Changes
We may update these terms as Yourkive matures; material changes will be surfaced in the app.
